A tree floats in Brooklyn

Last fall, I stumbled upon this tree, which looks like it’s hovering above the sidewalk at first glance. Does anyone know what kind of tree it is?

It’s a weeping form of a species. Do you have a photo of the leaves?

    Wow!!! Great picture. Megan, maybe you have more detail in the original photo from your camera? You could upload a zoomed in piece of the photo showing the leaves… Georgia knows a lot about trees (understatement)
