Can you spot the foxy friend in this picture? Not that my friend A. is not foxy, but look closer; there is second friend in the photo.
Indeed, it’s one of Berlin’s charming urban foxes, which we spotted at the expansive Britzer Garten, a sort of park-meets-botanic-garden which is located in Britz (south of Berlin-Neukölln), is fenced in and charges admission. Perhaps this keeps the number of visitors manageable and prevents the resident fox from feeling overwhelmed by people. He seemed calm and nonchalant about being near humans. He trotted right up to a group of visitors near us, then posed by a park bench before running along on his way.
Fellow nature blogger Out Walking the Dog has also reported sights of urban foxes in South London, taking it as an opportunity to discuss larger urban wildlife. So I took that as an opportunity to share this urban animal sighting, among the urban plants.
