My host in Kyoto has a yuzu tree in her garden. I have tree envy.
The yuzus are small and sour but unbelievably fragrant. She puts them in the ofuru, the deep Japanese communal bathtub. After a bath my partner said, “I feel like a lemon.”
We have gone yuzu crazy and drink yuzu lemonade, eat yuzu drops and put ponzu sauce (soy and yuzu) in our soup… Oh for my own urban garden in a more temperate climate, and a yuzu tree!
I love the colors in this photo!
Thank you! No filters – the lovely winter noontime sun did it all.
It’s wonderful photographing in the sun.
Matt, just want to add that I do also read your blog and find it extremely enriching. Since I don’t use Facebook I don’t leave comments, so I just wanted to affirm here that I do like your posts! Especially the one on Sammy Sosa’s Flickr account and the one on artist trading cards for museum visitors.
Thanks Leslie! I’ve been meaning to move my site over to a new platform since the commenting is broken (hence why I have facebook comments in its place).
I appreciate that you enjoy my posts. I was looking at the stats for the blog posts I wrote last year, and you urbanplants.wordpress.com was one of my top referrers. :)
