For one day only, a very odd tree in Miami will become a pop-up art gallery and installation site for an event entitled Shade Tree. Tomorrow, December 6, artist Barron Sherer informed us via email, he and William Keddell will be showing a site-specific work about this large tree which has grown right through and around a chain link fence. “Fence and tree are now intertwined as if they are one and the same object,” they explain in their statement about the project, which is taking place during the Art Basel/Miami art festival.
As Urban Plant Research readers have historically enjoyed discussing trees that merge with objects, I’m happy to share this event with you. If you’re near Miami, please stop by the Overtown/Wynwood neighborhood tomorrow to visit the exhibition:
