You may have noticed a lot of foreign plants appearing on this blog, with the location changing almost daily, during the month of August. That’s because I was on a photography road trip through Germany, France, Spain and Portugal, urban plant-spotting along the way. I sent some photos from my cell phone, but I also shot five rolls of film which I still need to share with you. Here’s a few from Perpignan, on the Spanish border of France, to warm these chilly autumn days.
Some great grapes, hanging over the fence from a private front yard.
A white house with a lone charismatic tree.
And some truly lush vines, climbing over the fence…
…and up the wall!
I’d be interested to hear if you also check out the plants when you’re travelling. Is it the gardening and landscaping the interests you, the edible plants, wild plants in the landscape, or weeds?
Love these photos, and oh, to have some of those grapes. :)
Hi Katie, thank you! Just curious, would you have eaten some? They were hanging onto the sidewalk side, so if French law is similar to German and American law, they were fair game for public snacking. I actually thought they looked kind of grungy though, so I didn’t taste one. Maybe I’m too chicken. Or maybe it was the fact that a nice fruit store woman had just given me a free bunch of amazing muscats a few minutes before and I had them in my backpack! Wow, France.
