Though perhaps a bit off topic, this CBS13 article from my hometown, “Family Sees Image Of Michael Jackson In Tree Stump,” was too good to go unmentioned. Talk about plants making shapes and speaking to us! And holding mirrors up to our minds…

Huh?
I just see an owl.
Inez, you’re not alone! All I see is a stump. But I love this line:
“To Stockton, Michael Jackson meant more to us than Jesus, to some people. I think they’re both about even.”
I know, I know. It’s funny how people get particular iconic images stuck in their brains so that they start recognizing them in plant-shapes and other objects. This happens a lot with images of Jesus and other religious figures. Check out this article from last year about an image of Jesus found in a felled tree log. It starts to get really crazy when you browse through the blog What Would Jesus See? about this phenomenon.
But the funny thing is, it is utterly impossible to see the Michael Jackson face they’re talking about in this photo!
Not only that, but I don’t even see a face of any kind! I just see a spot.
