Here’s the newest issue of Balkon & Garten sitting in some sunbeams on my desk.
Balkon & Garten is a sort of art- and literary magazine about plants and the people who like them, particularly city people. For each issue, a theme is announced and the readers are invited to send art and writing in response.
I’ve been a long-time reader and sometime contributor. My side of the Urban Plant Research project has developed in symbiosis with the constant flow of information about other plant-related art that I get from Balkon & Garten and its companion blog, Beton + Garten. So I was happy to be invited to guest-design the current issue.
Please take a look and if you like what you see, you can order a magazine from its publisher, Anke Wulffen:
The new issue on the Balkon & Garten website (in German). To browse the magazine, click and drag the bottom right-hand corner to turn the page.
The new issue at Gute Seiten (in English), a new online newstand for independent zines.
Leslie, it looks beautiful, nice work! Can’t wait to see it in person.
It’s turned out so well: well done!
Where can I get a copy?
You (in general) can order a copy for 5 Euros directly from the publisher (first link in above entry) or from the online zine store Gute Seiten (second link). But if you are Phoebe you have already been mailed a copy.
