I just caught PingMag’s report on a new film that seems right in tune with Sara’s wonderings about what we urban humans have in common with urban plants:
“Michel Gondry’s latest film ‘Interior Design’ [is] part of the omnibus movie “TOKYO!”: Hiroko moves with her boyfriend Akira, a novice filmmaker, to Tokyo. Compared to the ambitious Akira, Hiroko is awkward with everything and has no clue how she can express herself creatively. She starts to feel uncomfortable and, one day, a part of her body turns into a tree…”
I am definitely curious to see this, but I’m not sure when it will be released in the U.S. and Germany. It was already premiered at Cannes in May and is coming out in Japan just now, but IMDb only lists a release date for France (in October). IMDb also says that the girl turns into a piece of furniture, not a tree. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
