Hi Sophie, sorry this is coming so late. You can certainly join our garden - membership is 10 Euros a year and most members get a plot of their own. Sometimes you have to wait on a waiting list, but you can get off the list and into your own plot pretty quickly if you start participating in community events like meetings and group work days together. The garden's website is http://laskerwiese.blogspot.com/ and there is contact info there.

Hello,

Hope this message finds you well. Is it possible to rent a plot in your garden, or do you know of any other urban community garden project where one can acquire space to grow organic vegetables? I hope to be involved in such a project early next year, so any info would be really helpful,

Thanks,
-Sophie Iremonger

Trees that bend for some unknown reason. Go to 20702 El Toro Road in Lake Forrest California. Behind Apartment 455 on the hills of the River Oaks Apartments are some 50 foot tall trees that bend all the way over. They look like a spooky movie. I was trying to find out why they bend. Also, next to the George Air Force Base in Adelanto California (near Victorville), if you go opposite of Black Mountain near the fence where the airplanes sit, there is a huge metal thing in the ground (similar to a wind engine blast protector but it's not) all the cactuses in the desert bend away from the the metal in one direction to the right of it and the other direction to the left of it. Any ideas as to why this is happening?
